Walking

Walking is a great way to relax! It improves physical and mental health, so why not take a nice stroll by our lovely Petitcodiac River and enjoy the scenery. There are many trails and parks in the communities along the Petitcodiac River for you to enjoy. If you are in Greater Moncton, you can stop by our many interpretation panels along the Riverfront trail to learn more about the history and the importance of the Petitcodiac River.

Here some great places to visit to take in the sites and learn more about the Petitcodiac:

Do you have a furry friend? We encourage you to bring them with you on your next trip by the Petitcodiac. If you’re in the Greater Moncton area you can stop by Isaac’s Run Dog Park right by the riverfront.

While you’re out on your walk take a moment to reflect on the ways you interact with the river. Do you engage with the river in a responsible and sustainable way? By learning new ways to do these we can ensure its next 50 to 100-year life span while also leading to community growth and economical development. Examples of ways to interact would be by doing self directed activities in our event calendar!

Share a photo on Facebook or Instagram of you participating in this activity and tag it #celebratingthepetitcodiac for a chance to win a prize! Feeling lucky? Complete a row in our Bingo Card for extra entries.

The event is finished.
